Removing layers of noise from audio recordings that are to be used in a court of law should always be done by a certified expert. Recorded evidence can be challenged by the opposing counsel for many reasons. Authentication or tampering with the audio would be one. Another would be if an unqualified person performed enhancements that were not generally accepted by the courts as standard methodology. Any number of reasons could get the audio recording in question disqualified as evidence if not analyzed by a certified expert. |
